Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day!

I have spent my day doing what all mom’s do – laundry & housekeeping. It’s another day just like all the rest.  I am so very tired right now. I know that tonight before bedtime I am going to scrub the tub and then take a nice hot bath. Yep, that’s what’s planned for tonight. After the smoked meat that my hubby’s been smoking all day… YUM!!!

Now, if anyone tries to tell you that housework isn’t exercise they’re lying! Just in walking inside my house and out in my yard a little bit I have walked 3.49 miles today. And the day isn’t over with yet! It’s 4:34 PM my time as I’m typing this.

Now, I did get what I wanted for Mother’s Day. I got my bedroom re-arranged yesterday the way I have wanted it for years now. And, I got to talk to my daughter and grandchildren on Facebook Messenger. That made my day. Made me cry but it made my day. They live over 6 hours away from me so I don’t get to see them everyday like I would like.

I am enjoying my Mother’s Day. My husband also bought me a Virtual Reality headset Friday night. He was the first to use it as we came home from Wal-Mart. I died laughing hearing him because he said it was really weird watching a VR video where he was driving and to feel our van moving at the same time. That was payback enough for me driving while he tried it out. We got it on clearance for $7.00!

Words of Wisdom

So, since it’s Mother’s Day I thought I would share a few words of wisdom with you. I figure that since my daughter is grown I’ve learned at least a little bit about raising kids. Now I’m getting to play grandma too.

One thing I have to say that I have found to be very helpful is to not try to be super quiet when putting a baby or toddler down for a nap. I am so thankful that I always just went about my normal activities. My daughter never had an issue with taking a nap no matter where we were. I didn’t have to stress out trying to make other people be quiet either. I actually ran a vacuum cleaner right by her head once and she slept right through it! I was actually trying to wake her up because it had been about 2 hours that she had been napping in the floor and I didn’t want her to sleep too long.

So, in closing, I hope you had a wonderful day today!

Until next time

So, I have this new little gadget: MoreFit Waterproof Heart Rate Monitor Watch, HR Wireless Activity + Sleep Wristband, Purple. I bought it off of Amazon. I like it. It’s WAY more affordable than a Fitbit but for me it does the job great. AND, it’s WATERPROOF! It tracks my heart rate, my steps, and my sleep. And, I can get my text messages on it and my notifications from several social media apps too. It vibrates to tell me when I am getting a call, which is awesome because my ringer has quit working (looks like a trip to the phone store). I can set alarms and it will vibrate for those too. My alarms on my phone are also not sounding. And yes, I made sure all the notification sounds were up, I’m not in DND or Airplane mode, and I have my ringer and all notifications at max volume. But the sound on my games and other stuff plays! But I digress….

Anyway, this little gadget is becoming my new favorite thing. Now I can see how much sleep I get and how it breaks down. I have only had it for one day but last night I had 3 hours and 55 minutes of deep sleep and 3 hours and 9 minutes of shallow sleep and 15 minutes of waking sleep. I look forward to seeing what kind of sleep I get tonight. Last night I had Mark and the two dogs in the bed with me. Mark likes to hog the covers and the dogs like to sleep on either side of my legs, thus trapping me. They’re just Chihuahuas but they are effective. I don’t want to squash the little girls!

I have set a very low step goal for each day of the week since I spend most of my day in front of a computer. A measly 2000 steps. I may raise that. I did manage to get that goal plus some today. I had 460 steps yesterday for a half a day. I had 2234 steps so far today so I may want to up my goal. If I sit for too long the MoreFit will alert me that I’ve been too sedentary. It reminds me that I need to get up and move at least a little bit during the day.

If you want to get one here’s a handy link to the item:

This has been one of my better buys. We bought one for Mark first and he’s found out that he’s not getting very much deep sleep. Thus, part of the reason he’s waking up tired. Another part is because a sleep test his doctor had him do showed that while he sleeps he’s only getting 85% oxygen saturation. He is now able to see from night to night how much deep sleep he’s getting and how much shallow sleep he’s getting. So far his deep sleep has been anywhere from 40 minutes to a little over 2 hours. He’s not feeling well tonight so I’m curious to see what he gets for the night.

Well, it’s late and I need to get to bed. I have to work tomorrow and I need some rest so that I can do my Thursday Thoughts post.

Until next time…

I am so tired. I took myself to the ER to see about my foot and knee. I checked in around 10:45 PM (hubby was very late coming home after I told him I wanted to go have my foot and knee checked out). I was called back to a room at 1:45 AM. I have had an x-ray and am waiting on the doctor to come in. I will still have to drive myself home when this is done. I’ve been cat napping in a very full waiting room. I’m hoping that they will have some answers for me in regards to why my foot and knee are hurting so bad. I do hope that I don’t have a stress fracture in my foot. Not sure how I would have gotten one as I haven’t had any accidents. I certainly don’t know what’s up with my knee either.

If I get too sleepy I may just sleep on this bed until the doctor comes in. That does sound pretty nice. I think I will do that and then update the rest of this post before I leave while I’m waiting to be discharged.

Well, the x-rays didn’t show any fractures. They’re not sure what is wrong. They’re going to refer me to a podiatrist. Said it could be back related or even gout. No swelling or redness so I have stumped the ER doctor. Well, I am getting a shot for pain today and a prescription for anti-inflammatories and pain pills to start in the morning. Wait, it is morning. Guess tomorrow afternoon will have to do.

 Until next time…

May 4, 2017

Well, it’s here. Another Thursday Thoughts post. And, it just happens to be May 4th! So, I have to say it: May The Fourth Be With You!

I’m trying my best to have a good day today. I did actually go to the gym and work out today. I’m going to make that a weekly thing. It’s nice inside the gym. I have a membership to Planet Fitness. I got the Black Card so that I can use the hydro-massage chairs. I really like those chairs. Feels good after a workout.

I have enjoyed the nice weather outside today. I wish I would make time for days like this more often. It’s nice to get out and do whatever I want with no real schedule. I did have an eye appointment this morning and had to take my husband to lunch but those were no big deal. I enjoy eating lunch with my husband.

Goodness, I don’t have enough time in the day to get everything done I want to get done. I’m going to have to step back and start taking my own advice. Figure out what’s most important and get that done first. Then work on the other stuff. Prioritize. Yep, I think that’s going to be my next post in the paid content. All about prioritizing.

I’m probably going to be heading to the ER when my hubby gets home. My foot and leg are killing me. I’m hoping it’s not a stress fracture in my foot. It throbs and has a searing pain that mainly hits the foot when walking and the back of my knee when sitting or laying down. So, no matter what I do, I’m in pain. It’s probably about a 6 out of 10 but I refuse let myself shed a tear. I’m a big girl. I can keep it together. Crap, I’ve given birth without any pain medication for crying out loud! If I could do that I can do this.

I think I will take the laptop with me so I can work on the website some while I’m there. Otherwise, I think I’m going to be very bored. Very bored indeed. I’ll update this post as I get news. It may be as simple as a pulled muscle. Who knows?

Until next time…

April 27, 2017

It’s time again for another Thursday Thoughts post. I have been rather busy lately and have been neglecting the site. I’m sorry. Today I’m working with a headache. I don’t usually get headaches but today I have a doozy. I’m waiting on my medicine to kick in.

I went to my local Savers today and found a pair of Prada shoes for $24.99 USD. I splurged and bought them. My hubby may kill me but I just couldn’t pass them up.

Right now I’m in the public library enjoying some me time. It’s a beautiful day outside. If my head didn’t hurt I would be at the park working on this site. I have a comfy chair here at the library and lots of windows. I’m wearing my sunglasses inside to help until the medicine kicks in.

I guess today’s thoughts are more like ramblings. I feel like I need a power nap, but I’m pretty sure the library will frown on that. If my glasses were darker I might be able to get away with it. I’m in the adults only reading area. No kids allowed unless accompanied by an adult. Last time I came I sat in the teenage lounge. I was the only person there. I like the chairs over here better though.

If you haven’t visited your local library lately take the time to do so. It’s peaceful and you can catch up on your reading. Or emails. I wouldn’t suggest cat naps though. Do those at home.

Anyway, I do hope to get more pages published soon. I’ve had a bit of writer’s block going on. I hate it when that happens! I have stuff to do and can’t think of quality content. I may just be putting too much stress on myself. If I relax, the words and thoughts flow more easily.

I guess I need to start heading to pick up my hubby from work. I’m sure he’s going to be ready to go at quitting time.

Until next time…

I’m On Pinterest

So, I did it. I gave over and created a Pinterest for my business. You can use the icon at the bottom of the post to follow me. I’m adding pins periodically. It’s a little slow going but I will get more pins saved. I’m hoping that between this website and all of my Social Media sites people will be able to find the things that they need to help them on their journey.

Tomorrow is Wednesday. My long day helping the people of the Creek Nation. It’s okay, I’m helping provide a much needed service. Everyone has needs and I do love to help people. That’s why this site is here.

I may need to add a new membership level. One for those wanting/needing free content. I need suggestions for a clever name for that membership. There will always be an option to upgrade the account to the paid accouns if you find later that you need access to the paid content.

So, here’s your chance to help me out. Submit your suggestions in the comments.

Facing Our Fears

Are you afraid to let people know what you really want to do? Are you afraid of what they might think of you, or what they’ll say? Then you need to face those fears. Get it over with. So what if they say something you don’t like or don’t want to hear? That’s a part of life and a part of going for what you want. NO ONE who’s successful has gotten there without hearing hurtful things.

None of us like hearing those things. We fear having to deal with what is said or thought about us. The longer we put it off the larger it looms. By putting it off we give that fear dominion over us. We are supposed to be in charge of our own lives not fear. We need to face our fears and get it over with. Release ourselves to move forward and prosper.

If you want to read  more on this sign up for the Success Coaching. Then, visit the Face Your Fears page under the Success Coaching. I go into more detail on how you can face that biggest fear – quitting your job to do what you want in life.

April 13, 2017

So, it’s time for another Thursday Thoughts post. I’ve been a bit down in the dumps lately. I’ve had writer’s block something terrible. I keep beating myself up for not getting a ton of stuff done each day. I know, it’s stupid. I try to get at least one thing done each day. After all, small steps still get us to our destination.

It’s after 10:00 PM. I’m tired and really feel like going to bed and getting a fresh start tomorrow. Hopefully after some rest I will do better.

Until next time…

Palm Sunday

Today is Palm Sunday. The day that we remember that Christ rode into Jerusalem just prior to His capture and crucifixion. We can read about this in Mark 11:1-11. Then we can go to Matthew 26:1-16 to see what happened while He was in Bethany. Sometimes this portion is left out. However, if we read verse 13, this is supposed to be talked about. If you do not have a Bible I will place the scriptures below for you to be able to read.

Mark 11:1-11

1 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,

2 And saith until them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.

3 And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? Say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.

4 And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.

5 And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?

6 And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.

7 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.

8 And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.

9 And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:

10 Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.

11 And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.

Matthew 26:1-16

1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,

2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the Passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified,

3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

4 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

5  But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

10 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? For she had wrought a good work upon me.

11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

12 For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

13 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

So, Palm Sunday is the day that we remember His entry into Jerusalem as if He were the King. People were throwing the leaves from the trees (Palm Trees) into the road before Him. Kind of like the red carpet treatment. Everyone was happy to see Him that day and they were rejoicing that He had arrived in Jerusalem. That would soon change.

On the evening of His arrival in Jerusalem He went to Bethany. And there is where H had His burial ritual done in advance. His disciples didn’t understand this. They just saw this as wasteful. Jesus knew otherwise. He knew that He would be crucified on the Sabbath and that they would not be able to do anything for Him. Remember the woman who followed her heart and came to Him to pour the ointment over Him. Be brave like Her and follow your Heart.

So, today, remember that Jesus rode into Jerusalem knowing that He was about to be crucified. He rode in anyway. So, if He can face death, we can face whatever it is that lies in front of us. Be bold. Be fearless. Take the next step today towards whatever lies in front of you. There is a light on the other side of that mountain, it’s just hidden right now.

Writer’s Block

So, I have some writer’s block going on right now. I hate when this happens. I need to do so much work to the website. We’re in official Pre-Launch and I have got to get more content posted!

I did spend this morning cleaning up my living room again. I clean it and everyone else dirties it. Story of my life. But, it looks nice now. I do need to make some curtains. I live in the sticks and I’m land locked so I don’t really worry too much about curtains but it can get hot in the summer. I just have to suck it up and get out the sewing machine and make some curtains. I would crochet some but that would take too long because I would need to do single crochet so that there wasn’t a bunch of holes in the curtains to let light in.

Crochet. That’s something that I haven’t done in a long time. My bag is in the living room beside the rocker waiting for me. I need to work on some stuff that I can sell at a vendor fair. It’s getting warmer so I could do the baby flip flops and I bet those would sell like hotcakes right now. I have yarn. I need to just suck it up and get started on some little flip flops. I could put them up here and on Etsy. I bet on Etsy they would sell good.

I’m rambling. I had some good thoughts this morning while I was cleaning and now I don’t remember what I thought of! Of course. I need to go clean off the bed and make it so that we have clean sheets on the bed tonight. Tomorrow is Palm Sunday. Not sure what I have to wear. Hopefully I can get Mark out of the bed in the morning. I’m hoping anyway.

I guess I’ll sign off and get started on the bed.

Until next time…
